Information for Students
We understand that you want an experiential education program that will give you the opportunity to contribute to community development in a practical and meaningful way. We have identified specific core competencies which we believe are necessary for successful completion for this challenge. These include skills of engagement, needs analysis, cultural understanding, project identification, solution finding and project implementation and evaluation.
Your practical project can be customized to meet your needs and those of the community in which you will work. Your research and practical field work will be guided by IPHD. Staying with a host family will give you a total cultural immersion experience – work, family, play! Because our programs attract students from all over the world you will be able to develop an international fellowship which further emphasizes our goals of experiencing diversity.
At the conclusion of our program you will be given a Certificate of Internship which gives an overview of the project you have worked on and what you have achieved.
